Our Mission
Based in England, we at Athame aim to mould a gentler world through the shared fun and creativity of board games and tabletop roleplaying games. We also hope to provide LGBTQIA2S and straight, cis identities alike with the room to explore, express and inspire each other.
Our Games
We strongly believe that gaming belongs to everyone regardless of background, creed, nationality, gender identity, or sex. Though some of our games are sure to deal with historical and dark themes, what is most important is that everyone around the table feels comfortable and safe. We believe that the rules of our games are not immutable laws but carefully crafted suggestions. If a rule is not fun, throw it out, and if your group thinks of a rule that you all enjoy, we not only encourage you to use it but also implore you to share it with us. We design our games holistically from start to finish emphasizing replayability and player empowerment.
If you’re short on change but still want to play, visit our Resources page for free downloads of our games.
AI Policy
We are a company founded by creative individuals who seek to uplift others. To this end, we are staunchly opposed to the use of generative AI in all of its forms which are both unoriginal and deleterious to the livelihood and opportunities of artists everywhere. We are committed to perpetuating the unbroken chain of creativity from one generation to the next. As a result, we refuse to use AI in any of our projects at any stage of development or pre-development.
Michelle Carrington
She’s the artist and the operations manager. If it looks good, she did it and when it arrives, it’s thanks to her. She’s also a real good egg whose dedication to cosiness and collaboration founded the company.
She’s a jack of all trades who sews the cutest accessories and outfits and I could totally see her behind the grill.
Lucerne Kidd
She’s the rules lady and marketer. If it’s fun, she did it and if it’s written, she wrote it. (hello~).
Her favourite video game is ‘En Guarde!’ and she can both juggle and fence, just not at the same time.
